I have bought two of these models, and after a few years, each of them developed a coolant leak and could not be repaired and had to be thrown out. I will definitely not buy this model again.

I really like the size of the freezer. I buy 1/2 a side of beef and a hog twice a year, and I still have room for frozen veggies, a deer, and other frozen items. It comes with 2 baskets to keep things separated, but I wish it came with one more one size bigger. The baskets are a tad small to hold more than a few bags of frozen veggies.

The freezer works BUT there are no storage options to organize things, except for 3 small baskets. The back isn™™t fully enclosed, so I have to worry about mice, raccoons & other critters finding their way in; which could mess up the wiring and poses a danger. Most importantly though, from about 6 months in of owning this freezer, every time we get food out, the lid slams down on our heads!! The hydraulics on the hinge just stopped working. We have to literally hold it open with one hand, while getting food out with the other. Again, this is super inconvenient, to say the least!

Just got my new GE Freezer. LOVE the baskets in the top for smaller items. Freezer works great. Lid opens easily. Great for ability to keep frozen produce from my garden, fruit and citrus trees for future use.

I love the storage space and the door lock key system because the keys are easily identifiable and the defrost drainage system and the temperature selection knob and indicator light to keep us informed to let us know whether power is on or off and is very quiet.

Freezer is missing a vent/ grate on the back of the appliance, I live in a rural area and do not want a mouse to live in or chew up the internals of my brand new freezer. There are four small holes in the corners that look like they should secure a grate but after being on hold for 40 minutes they told me the freezer was designed to have this massive gap.

I have kept this model in my garage for the last 2 years with no issues whatsoever, and my husband and I keep it pretty well-filled. It is great to have as a back-up for extra storage, and the green power light indicator is a good feature.

Freezer arrived with no dents or scratches. Took almost a year because of the pandemic. It is a good size and hold quite a bit. My wife and I are happy. It is not loud when it runs and got up to 0 degrees in very little time.

Works exactly as advertised. I only wish I would have gotten the next larger size. I didn't take into account the thicker walls that garage freezers have but it keeps a consistent temp when my kids don't forget and leave the door open overnight!

Easy to install and freezes well. Would have preferred a mid-level track for more baskets so things don™™t get lost in the bottom. (My Kenmore had them). The 3 baskets that came with this GE freezer were small and made of flimsy gauged wire. Disappointed in choices available for purchase; took 2 weeks for delivery .

I purchased this as it was advertised as garage ready. I live in humid Florida. I've had the freezer for 2 months and there is already significant ice on the inside of the freezer. It keeps things frozen well enough and I haven't noticed any frost problems on the food.

The unit was delivered in perfect condition other than a very small dent on the fron corner of the lid. The dent in my opion occured during the manufacturing process prior to painting since the paint or the shipping container were not damaged at all. The dent does not affect its operation at all. We plugged the unit in and everything works perfectly. We are happy.

I purchased this freezer sight unseen, since none were in stock and I needed one right away. I like the height, as I can lean over easily. It has a bright interior light. The interior metal lining is fine and nothing sticks to it. The disappointment is the interior space. The walls are 4" double thick around. This freezer is 8" longer and 3" shorter than my old one (same width), but none of my baskets fit and it holds SO much less. This freezer comes with 3 very narrow hanging baskets (7"w x 17"l x 7"d) which can hold very little. It could actually fit 6 across. I tried ordering an additional basket but it costs $84 for 1!! I wish to at least have baskets that I could stack inside. Now I just pile everything on top of each other. Two pies do not fit next to each other front to back. Interior 43" x 18". I wish these dimensions were provided ahead of time. Stuck now.

This is used in my garage as a deep freeze. I also have an upright freezer. While the upright freezer is handy, I've had several times where someone doesn't get it shut all the way and it partially defrosts the whole thing. So I am liking the chest freezer, as it doesn't have this problem. I like that it has a light in the bottom corner that tells you it's on. That gives me peace of mind that my freezer is staying frozen.

With the expected food shortage it is comforting to know I'm prepared. My plan during the holidays is to put a decorative tablecloth over it and use It as a buffet.
