Worst appliance purchase ever!

Do not buy this fridge. We have had nothing but problems with it. The cooling system does not work, it freezes on the bottom and is warm on top. We have had multiple technicians out to fix it and no one can but they still charge you for service. No one can tell you what is wrong and now we have to spend thousands of dollars to purchase a new fridge. No one at GE is helpful in getting this fixed nor at the store we purchased from. Stay away from this appliance.

Doesn't last and expensive filters!

For over $3000 I would expect a long lasting great refrigerator. What I got is a decent fridge that has expensive water filters and just had the condenser fan motor go out after 6 years. The evaporator fan went out after 4 years. What's next??? I won't be buying GE brand again!!!

A real workhorse

We love our GE refridgerator. There is plenty of room, especially in the bottom freezer. The only detriment is having to buy a GE branded water filter every 6 months (about $65 each). We have been using it over 2 years now without a problem (except the ice dispenser gets jammed once in a while). I still highly recommend this refridgerator especially since you know GE will still be around when you need replacement parts.

The layout of this refrigerator is fine except it has no specific space for butter. In addition, there is no way to totally shut off the water filter without ordering a water filter stopper. That should have come with the expensive refrigerator.

The fridge looks sleek and at a whopping 26 cubic I expected better storage. There's no butter holder, the air filter bites into the top, left side of the fridge making it impossible to store containers flush against the wall.

Frig is great.Delivery through GE store was horrendous, didn't hook-up ice maker like we paid for. Delivery team literally dropped off frig in kitchen and left. Didn;t attach doors, didn't plug it in--it's like they couldn't get out of here fast enough! Terrible service and unacceptable

After only 3 1/2 months the control panel on the frence door model is acting up! Ice maker will dispense ice whenever it feels like it and that includes water! Then the interior lights sometimes will not come on. I discovered that if you close door firmly and open the lights will sometimes work but not the dispencer. My wife purchased a GE because most of it is made in USA. My wife is Korean and will always prefer American made products. However, after viewing Consumer Reports on Korean made applicances they got us beat hands down!!

Issues with ice maker

We have had the refrigerator only a few months and have had issues with ice maker and speed of water flow. We were told that is due to the filter needing to be replaced. Ge shipped us a new water winter and it lasted all of two weeks, then ice started to slow down and water flow decreasing rapidly. We are not wanting someone in our home at this time due to virus so now we have to deal with buying ice for our new fridge until virus clears. Very frustrating. Bought for customer service but are thinking this was a bad choice.

I purchased this along with all other matching GE appliances for my kitchen remodel. It has a lot of room, I like the layout, and the slate finish is amazing. I doesn't show fingerprints like the stainless and doesn't have that wavy look like the stainless when you look at it from a profile. It functions exactly how I expected, so I'm very pleased.

Ice Maker Broken

We bought our fridge December 2018. In December 2019 we changed the filter, but couldn't get it to work. We bought another filter thinking it was just a faulty filter, but it still wouldn't work. We've since had repairmen out 7 times to try to fix the issue. They fix it, and then 4 days later it stops working due to the water lines freezing. We've defrosted it twice which is a pain in the butt unloading and reloading everything. I'm not a happy camper with this product.

Not completely sold on lower freezer. Miss some pluses from older GE model including enclosed butter shelf on door. The water dispenser tray being flat does not hold drips and the water dispenser always leaves a drip or drips after use.

We didn™€™t pre think about this one. We went into a scratch and sent store and there it was. Just like new or a good as new. We purchased this model without a second thought. The challenge was to get it into our entrance door. We took off both side by side doors and the door to the freezer off. Then it came inside easily. The refrigerators and freezer takes a full 24 hours to chill. But after that ice maker was full and top and bottom was cold and ready. The freezer is big and deep. Icy Cold. The refrigerator has led lighting and very bright inside. Wide and long enough for pizza and party trays and even tall wine bottles. This one holds is all. Ice maker is good plenty ice ready and cold water. So the price point was worth it. There were very little imperfections on the front and it is a finger proof Surface on the front

This model has the perfect sized compartments for a two family house! It can hold a 25 lb turkey with no space problem! I love the deli drawer. Two freezer compartments plus the top rack for smaller items. Beautiful structure!

Our refrigerator is only 6 months old and we've had 2 service calls on it already. The motor in the ice maker has been replaced. The gasket completely fell off the freezer door, it was replaced but we still have frost build up. They are now going to replace the drawer front, there is supposedly too much insulation causing it. I think they should give us an extended warranty.

Unfortunately I wrote a review 48 hours after delivery and wasn't impressed with how much it ran. I don't think I'd given it enough time to acclimatize. It's not noisy and is now maintaining the correct temperature - proven by my indoor/outdoor digital thermometer. The French door model was a big change for us from a side-by-side, but I absolutely love it. Never again will I have a frozen food item slide out and drop onto my foot! There are lights everywhere and there are no dark corners. It's easy to adjust the shelves to fit our food items. I ordered the dairy shelf and tip-out freezer door basket, plus a Whirlpool egg tray (sorry GE) and the refrigerator is now configured to our needs. The tip-out freezer basket holds small quantities of herbs and keeps them from getting lost and was a cinch to install. I was worried the refrigerator would stick out in the room too far, but because the side is two colors, it gives the illusion of not being bigger. Most of all, I love the slate finish. It goes so well with EVERYTHING in my kitchen, especially the granite coutertops. First time in my life I've bought all four pieces from one manufacturer. Absolutely loving everything.

Could have bought better

First is the freezer drawer handle. Have had service technicians come out to put it back on after falling off two times. Second, had we known that the water filter was so exclusively designed that one can only buy GE filters at an outrageous price we would not have purchased this fridge. Over all, things seem flimsy and cheap.

Not exactly happy with my new refrigerator. It's been running non-stop for two days. I put a thermometer in it when it first arrived and the first morning it was down to 38º, but this morning it was only down to 43º and hadn't been opened since the night before.
