Oven & Stove Top distinction

The oven and stove top cannot be used at same time. This appliance is only a few years old. If we use both at same time it blows a fuse. The fuse is 40 amp and only oven is on it so that is not the issue.

Left Glass Top Burner Mysteriously Cracked

We picked this stove along with the matching refrigerator & dishwasher when our new house was almost complete. We have absolutely loved all of our appliances until last night when the left, front glass top burner mysteriously cracked in a large v shape while using the ™€œopposite right burner™€ on medium low heat and the ™€œoven™€™s air fryer™€ setting ™€œsimultaneously™€ and after the stove cooled we noticed the crack had expanded across the entire stove top. We rarely used that left front burner & have never dropped anything on the glass so we are extremely confused & upset that the cooktop glass would crack for no reason other than using the air fryer setting & right cooktop burner simultaneously. I™€™ve never heard of not being able to use the oven & cooktop at the same time or the glass might crack because I thought that™€™s what a stove was for™€¦.cooking! The most frustrating part about this issue is that the appliance has not been used daily; I™€™m disabled & in/out of hospital a lot & even when we are home (just me & Husband) we mostly use the microwave or a small toaster oven instead in order to reheat pre-prepared meals. We never over used or abused the oven itself. I doubt we can find a coil top oven in the slate color because I™€™m afraid of the issue happening if we purchase another glass top oven.:(

I loved my GE stove until last week. My son and I were preheating a skillet on the stove and then decided to cook later and shut it off. As we were talking, we head a loud cracking noise and it was the stovetop cracking! The stove was off, but the heat coming from it was so hot that we flipped the breaker instead of going near it again. I™€™d like to know if this is the reason you™€™ve discontinued the model. I™€™m so afraid of the thing that I™€™m not going to try to repair it. Now I need to find a company that makes slate appliances so it won™€™t stand out with my GE fridge, dishwasher, and microwave.

Nothing but problems since we bought it a few years ago. Wires will get corroded, the insulation burns, the plug shorted and caused a fire, then melted the block shortly after replacing it. The convection fan went out within a month. The stove light short circuits and is pointless to replace. Nothing but a giant fire hazard I cant afford to replace.

Stink from the oven

Whenever we run the broiler, the stove puts out a weird smell after a number of minutes and the smell smells like electronics burning. I don™€™t know why, but it does heat properly. It cooks properly but the stink coming out of it is horrible. It does not matter what kind of food we put in and heat up with the broiler, but is that the heat coming out? The top side of the stove is so bad that I have to air the house out and I™€™m not sure what is wrong!!

Just had this stove for a week and love it. Wish it had at least a small burner in the front instead ot the two large multi size burners. A small burner in the front and a multi size burner in the back would be easy to use if you are just using small pots for cooking.

THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST APPLIANCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. FIRST THE RIGHT FRONT BURNER WENT HAY-WIRE MEANING WHEN I TURNED IT ON THE LOWEST SETTING IT WOULD GO TO THE HIGHEST HEAT SETTING AND WOULDNT TURN DOWN UNLESS I TURNED IT COMPLETELY OFF. THEN THE LEFT FRONT BURNER DID THE SAME THING. IMAGINE THAT, THIS ALL HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRED. I WILL NOT SPEND MONEY ON GETTING IT FIXED DO TO THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THE FACT IT SHOULDNT HAVE GONE OUT THAT FAST IN THE FIRST PLACE.MY MOTHER TOLD ME NOT THE BUY GE, I HAVE LEARNED MY LEASSON.

Slate finish range

This model is a replacement due to the accidental glasstop breakage of my previous GE model (JB645EK4ES). I was able to purchase this range (upgrade) for a lesser amount than replacing w/identical previous model. I do like when I open the oven door the light comes on automatically (did not on previous model). The range seems to be well made & sturdy, having the surface warming zone is a nice option. Have not used the covection bake option yet to see how well that works. Delivery was on time with easy installation by GE servicemen was an advantage.

Glass top Factory Defect, poor quality.

I'm on my second JB655EKES Range, the glass top cracked four months after warranty, i was frying an egg on low heat, this was a Factory Defect. I was going to buy a new glass top until i found out the top alone was $1069.00. not including labor. If this one cracks i'll be buying a different brand that will match our GE, Dishwasher,Frig, and Microwave. I'm a very unhappy customer.

Again, GE is not good to work with. I have 3 appliances and everyone one of them has had issues. Customer service and the policies in place are ridiculous. These are brand new appliances and I want them replaced, not fixed. I want to be compensated because I was provided broken appliances.

Buy it nice or buy it twice ... very reasonably priced. Functional. Love the air fryer component. The oven does well on keeping the heat in the oven (doesn't escape from door). Warming function on the stove is nice additive.
