Cooktop cracks easily; $1000 to replace part

This stove initially worked well, although after about 2 years the cooktop cracked and the cost of repair for parts was $900, and with service and installation it would have been $1000 to replace the top, which is more than the original cost of the stove. It shouldn't have cracked that easily, and the cost of repair is excessive. I would not recommend this stove.

The various sizes of the burners is efficient use of stovetop space. White marks on the burner dials would make the stove safer to use. The burner control knobs are hard to read.

Owned a GE range previously and it was amazing. Oven quit so we upgraded to another name brand stove. That stove was terrible. Inconsistent baking and had to adjust times and temperatures every time I baked. Got rid of that stove and went back to a GE,. Bakes wonderfully as my old GE did and all is right with the world again. Couldn't be happier!!!!

Panel operation is convoluted. In order to set the clock time you must press the "0" for 3 seconds for the sequence to appear for time correction entry. Why not have a "clock" button? The "0" button doesn't always provide the time display to be input the correction. When you set the oven bake temperature you lose the time of day display. If you use the "timer" setting you lose the temperature and/or the time of day display. Timer counts down by minutes, not seconds, until the final minute of the timer sequence.

It is very hard to keep the top clean. The buttons turn on very easily, so you gotta be careful when you™€™re wiping down the stove the confection oven is a little loud, but it still works well.

Love the Air Fry feature

So far the stove is meeting all of my expectations and the Air Fry function is really great. Works better than my Toster Oven Air Fryer. My only issue is the glass cook top. I bought this one WITH an extended warranty, after the glass cook top cracked in multiple places in November 2023 on the one I bought in July 2022 without the Air Fry. I wish they still made the glass cook tops like they used to. I had a white one that was a GE and it worked perfectly and the glass cook top still looked brand new after 10 years but we changed all of our appliances to black in 2022. The cook tops are not as durable and scratch way to easy.

I love the look of the stove, but it did not come with a manual. I know it can be downloaded but that is inconvenient. The top glass scratches very easy. And watch the bottom of your old pot and pans.

Burner malfunction in less than 6 weeks

I liked the range at first. Looks nice and has some great features. However, less than 6 weeks after purchase, one of the front burners malfunctioned. It turns on to high and cannot be regulated!

We love our new electric range. Love the flat top for easy cleaning and really like the air fryer. Only one draw back, though, is that the alarm that let's one know when the oven is up to temp is very faint. If one is further than 10 feet of the range it is difficult to hear and if one is involved in conversation; well...nil. And for those with hearing issues as my partner is, he has yet to hear the alarm. Other than that, it's a keeper.

It works, but I wish there were detailed instructions and information about the different settings. What does air fry do? From what I gather the broiler is on and the fan is on, is that right? Providing information on which heating elements are in use for each setting would be very helpful to know so that I don't have to do all the guessing and checking, and potentially ruining my food. I think I'll just use the convect roasting because that seems to have heat from both the top and bottom, I think? But also I'm not sure which heating elements are used for convect roasting versus convect baking... Again detailed information in the manual would be nice. I'm glad I knew that I needed to burn off the chemicals before using the oven. That was not clear in the documents delivered with the oven either. I had to do quite a bit of Googling before I found instructions on what to do, and let me tell you it was very necessary. My entire home was filled with a chemical smell for days, my air filter indicator light turned red which has never happened before in my home. Burn off instructions need to be include and made clear and obvious ™€" how many ppl have experienced a brand new oven before? I certainly hadn't, and only happened to know about the burning off from a Wirecutter Instagram story about toaster ovens posted a few months earlier. Also, I have no idea how the timer works. Sometimes it shows the oven temperature with a little clock in the corner indicating the timer is in, but no indication of how much time is remaining. Sometimes I click the right buttons to get the display to show the timer but I'm not sure what sequence of buttons I pushed to make that happen. (Another request for a user's manual instruction on how to view the timer vs oven temperature, please.)

We purchased the range about a month ago. So far everything works as expected. We haven't tried the air fryer yet, but are planning to do so soon. The only thing that could be improved is the timer volume. We can barely hear it unless we're in the same room.

cook top issues

There are some things that look like small cracks in the cook top, also there is a white mark on the front right burner, no amount of cleaning the cook top with the clean removes these issues. This appliance replaced our Maytag electric range and we never had issues with that cook top. We wanted this in white, however since our 22 year old Maytag electric was not working we took the black as we needed a new range. The cook top always looks like there is a film on all of the burners.

I have all GE appliances (in black) and they look great in my kitchen that has white cabinets and grey speckled countertops. Convection options take longer than regular bake mode. Fan stays on for 40 seconds maximum and off for 2 minutes. Noisy and constant clicking noise. GE tells service repair this is normal. Terrible customer service too.

So far I've been very happy with this range. I had to replace my LG range that was not very old and I feel it should have lasted a lot longer, which is one reason I'm giving this GE a try. The LG range had touch button controls only and they had become very hard to push. I'm very happy to have knobs again. I prefer baking with convection over conventional, so that feature was a must for me. I have not had a chance to try out the air fry feature, but I'm looking forward to it. I also really like the different size burners. They accommodate my larger pots and pans much better than any of my other ranges have. I would definitely recommend this range to anyone.

This is a good product. I was leary at first, as I thought I was going to have a hard time removing caked-on food. I was able to find a good cleaning solution to remove it. Not to thrilled how the broiler works, since it says to leave the door closed when in use. I'm just used to having it slightly opened. Haven't tested the convection part yet so hopefully no issues. Need to figure out how the timer works. It was challenging. Overall, I wound recommend this product.

Cooktop works well. Oven runs a bit hot. Timer is useless! Very faint ring tone. Technician came and concluded that it was manufactured that way purposely. Had to spend $20 on a timer I could hear.
